1912

Rotary Arrives in Europe

The Rotary Club of London becomes the first Rotary club chartered in Europe, marking Rotary’s intercontinental expansion.

1921

Rotary Club of Bath Founded

The Rotary Club of Bath, UK, is officially founded, joining the growing network of clubs dedicated to service across Great Britain and Ireland.

1945

Rotary: A Charter Member of the UN

Rotary was instrumental in the formation of the United Nations, with its members serving as consultants and contributing to the drafting of the UN Charter. Today, Rotary holds the highest consultative status given to a non-governmental organization at the UN.

1946

First visit to Alkmaar

The first club visit to Alkmaar in the Netherlands, with whom the Rotary Club of Bath is twinned. The club was a leader in the aid and support given to the city of Alkmaar by the city of Bath at the end of WW2, and our relationship remains strong to this day.

1985

Stop Polio!

Rotary launched the PolioPlus program, an ambitious global campaign to eradicate polio.

2012

Bath Festival of Motoring

The first Bath Festival of Motoring takes place, bringing together families and auto enthusiasts to raise money for causes in Bath and the SW.

2021

Centenary Celebration

The Rotary Club of Bath proudly celebrates 100 years of dedicated service to the local community and contributions to Rotary’s global initiatives.

When and where we meet

Each month, we meet as a club on the first and third Tuesday lunchtimes, and the second and fourth Wednesday evenings.

Meetings usually take place at Lansdown Golf Club, except for the second Wednesday evening of the month, in week four, which is generally in the City Centre.
