Bath Rotarian Senthil Kumar recently visited some of his extended family based in Chennai (Madras), India, and took with him greetings from his home club and a traditional Club pennant.

The Bath Club pennant, featuring Bath Abbey with the Club’s establishing date of 1921, was duly presented at a meeting of the Chennai Club, itself fast approaching its own centenary in 2029. The exchange is a timely reminder of how global and long-standing the Rotary movement, and how the principles behind it motivate people of goodwill around the world.
Senthil brought back a pennant from the Chennai Club which will itself be formally presented to the Bath Club, and join our extensive collection of club pennants from all around the world. A selection of these are put on display at our Tuesday lunchtime meetings, as in many Rotary clubs.

In recent years our Club has undertaken several international Rotary projects in partnership with Rotary Clubs based in India, and we look forward to keeping these important links going, not least as Rotary worldwide continues to campaign to eradicate polio from the globe.
