Over £3,500 for local homeless charity, Julian House was collected by the Rotary Club of Bath in the run-up to Christmas 2025.
Members of the Club organised collections during Carols around the Christmas Tree on two evenings during the Bath Christmas Market, as well as arranging a retiring collection at the end of the Club’s annual carol service in Bath Abbey.

Both events included performances from the Lucis Choir, while the carol service included music provided by the Salvation Army brass band, and the children’s choir from Bathwick St Mary’s Church School.
The Mayor of Bath, Cllr. Prof. Bharat Pankhania read one of the lessons at the carol service, as did Richard Ingle, Chief Executive of Bath Building Society which once again kindly sponsored the event.
A completely packed Abbey of over 800 underlined the community nature of the event: attendees included residents of local care homes, friends and families of those performing, representatives of Bath Building Society and Julian House, and even a surprise delegation of young players from Bath Rugby.

As Rotary Club President Richard Bush wrote in the order of service, “In these times of unrest and suffering throughout so many areas of our world, we are indeed fortunate to be able to come together in our lovely Abbey…”
