The Rotary Club of Bath has welcomed four new women members in the past few weeks, helping challenge outmoded notions of what a Rotary Club is.
Many people still think of Rotary as being for older retired men. But this old cliche has been out of date for some time, and is certainly changing in Bath.
New members, Di, Leo and Sam have been joined by Anna (not pictured). Together with existing member Alice, it means the Rotary Club of Bath now has five women members.
“This is still far short of where we want to be,” explains this year’s President Richard Bush. “But it is a great start as we rejuvenate our Club and bring in more talented, enthusiastic people of both sexes and all ages. What matters is that we all share the ideals of Rotary: putting service above self and working together to do good, in our local community and in the wider world.”
If you are interested in finding out more about Rotary, the Club holds regular “open” meetings which anyone can attend to find out more. Contact President Richard via the contact form on this website.
