The team at Bath Rotary Club enjoyed themselves at the charity Bath Boules this year, and helped deliver the event by providing stewards across the four days of fun.
The annual Bath Boules were run for the first time this year by Bath BID (the city centre business improvement district), attracting dozens of teams from businesses and charities across the city for some not-too-serious competition. For four days Queen Square in the centre of the city was taken over by people in berets, striped jerseys, fake moustaches and garlands of onions, and all in aid of charity.
Bath Rotary were asked to provide stewards for the event, helping direct players, sell raffle tickets and explain to mystified tourists what was going on.
New Club President, Chris Davies, said Rotary were delighted to be able to help out: “The Bath Boules is a great annual event that brings people together to have fun and raise money for local charities. Rotary colleagues were happy to help the excellent BID team deliver the event: it was a great joy and a privilege to be involved.”
Rotary’s own team – the Rotary Boulers – won a creditable 4 out of 6 of their games, making lots of new contacts along the way and telling plenty of people of how the Rotary Club in Bath is changing and growing. Magnifique!
